 It will take on February 4, Thursday, that Nelson Évora will undergo surgery because of the stress fracture that he has contracted some months ago.
It will be at the Hospital Sant'Ana in Parede (Cascais- Portugal), that Nelson Évora will be subjected to a surgical intervention by the team of Dr. António Martins, head of the Medical Department of S.L. Benfica in whom Nelson and his coach have total confidence in his recovery. It should be a simple operation, but very useful for the recovery of the stress fracture that he contracted at the end of last season on the right tibia. That injury was preventing the proper course of the preparation for the European Championships and other competitions. The Portuguese athlete, after the decision, is confident and optimistic about the result of the operation and looking forward to back on training and competitions, although it is still early to talk about dates. For Nelson Évora and his coach, the point is that Nelson Évora work with the aim of the Olympic Games of London in mind, taking in between other mid targets, which will happen depending on the recovery from Thursday's operation. |
